*Please make sure if you are in a different time zone you account for this class being on Eastern Standard Time*
William Morris was an Arts and Crafts Movement Pioneer who believed that everything in the home should be beautiful. He dedicated his life to the art of observing nature and pattern-making to enhance home furnishings. In this workshop, participants will start by creating a simple drawing of flowers, leaves, or other natural object. Then, they will use a pattern-making method to recreate their drawings as repeatable patterns. The history of the Arts and Crafts Movement will be covered in-depth, and participants will be able to teach the lesson in their home classrooms, whether digitally or in person.
Participants will need a flower/small branch/leaf/natural object, drawing paper, pencil, ruler (any straight edge will do, even the edge of another piece of paper) eraser, scissors, tape, and tracing paper (or a window will do!) for this workshop. This workshop is taught via Zoom and it is important that all participants have a strong internet connection.
A Zoom link will be emailed to all participants the day before class.
*** Please note that in order to receive CTLE credit for this workshop, all participants must complete an evaluation using a provided link in order to receive their certificates. In order to preserve the privacy of our participants, we ask that all questions be asked via the chat feature, and an assistant will read them to the instructor to make sure all questions are answered smoothly. Recording will stop towards the end of class for participants to share their work and have discussions with each other via the video feature.
